The mind behind Messy Mindfulness

I know how exhausting it feels to be consumed by constant thoughts around food and body. I spent years of my life stuck in patterns of negative self-talk, body-image insecurities, and extreme restriction and binging. I felt like I would never escape from the constant panic over calories, my weight, and food. It wasn’t until I worked to understand the history of diet culture, my body’s biology, and unmasked the purpose of my eating disorder, while simultaneously practicing a series of coping mechanisms, that I found peace. By utilizing a combination of these techniques with clients, together, we foster this same sense of peace, body neutrality, and self-acceptance. It’s my goal to be a guide and support system, as well as empower you with the tools and insight necessary to begin recovery.

From the moment we are born, we are immersed in a culture that prioritizes thinness and praises weight-loss. We are taught from the very beginning, that we must take up as little space as possible. This mindset has created a disconnect from what our bodies and souls truly need to thrive, making our relationship with food and our bodies messy in the process. And while many of us are ready to move forward, so many of us feel stuck. That is exactly why Messy Mindfulness is here. Through coaching, workbooks, community, and more, this is your safe space to develop the tools to expand your life instead of shrinking your body.

Let's make one thing clear: we are NOT a weight loss or dieting service, and never will be. We are dedicated to helping people break free from unhelpful mindsets surrounding body image and food. Think of us as a support and a guide to help you on your new journey to self-empowerment and creating a life that revolves around more than food and body image. We know that the world can be a hard place to navigate when it comes to dealing with your unique struggles and problems. Messy Mindfulness is a safe space for people to not just unload, but decode their problems, working together to determine the best, individualized path to healing.

With this package, you'll work to learn more about diet culture, its harmful history, and its significant impact on our society as a whole. Simultaneously, you'll also be developing practical coping strategies & mechanisms for body image resilience and fighting against diet & food-based fears, having individualized support every step of the way. Available as a small group program featuring self-paced modules, that you get immediate access to after registration.

Get thoughtful, dedicated & experienced support for you eating disorder recovery

1-on-1 eating disorder recovery coaching

The earlier stages of recovery can sometimes be the hardest and the most crucial. If you are actively recovering from eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, and/or binge) get the additional support you need. As an Eating Disorder Recover Coach, Sydney can, alongside your therapist and dietician, aid in supporting your progress or help you to transition out of intensive care.

With coaching, you'll work one-on-one with Sydney during scheduled weekly calls. In between calls, you'll receive assignments & practices to define and provide guidance & support in your recovery. Additionally, for times when the week seems extra riddled with triggers, you will have access to Sydney for a quick chat.

Working through complex issues like body image and other related problems can be hard to tackle, especially when you aren't sure where to start.
